Selected Projects

This portfolio showcases my academic work reframed to highlight skills relevant to content strategy. Each project demonstrates different abilities that transfer directly to content planning, creation, and management in professional settings.

Analysis of Narrative Patterns in Contemporary Fiction

Literary Analysis | Critical Research | Fall 2023

In this analysis of Southern Gothic fiction by contemporary authors, I examine how traditional storytelling elements have evolved to address modern themes while maintaining connections to their literary roots. This research demonstrates my ability to identify patterns in content and understand how storytelling traditions adapt to changing audience expectations.

The project required me to research multiple sources and synthesize information into a cohesive analysis. I evaluated how different authors use similar techniques to achieve varying effects with their audiences, showing my ability to understand what makes content effective in different contexts.

In a content strategy role, these analytical skills would help me evaluate content performance and identify what storytelling approaches work best for different audience segments. This demonstrates my ability to look beyond surface-level content to understand the structural elements that create audience engagement.

Evaluating Message Effectiveness Across Communication Channels

Rhetorical Analysis | Media Study | Spring 2024

This project analyzes how environmental organizations adapt their messaging across different platforms to reach various audiences. By examining their communication strategies, I identified how the same core message is tailored for different contexts while maintaining brand consistency.

My analysis involved comparing communication approaches across websites, social media, and print materials to understand how each organization adjusts their messaging for different platforms and audiences. I identified which techniques were most effective in each context and why certain approaches resonated with specific audiences.

In content strategy, this skill of analyzing how messages perform across channels is essential for developing effective multi-platform content plans. This project demonstrates my ability to evaluate communication approaches and understand how content needs to adapt to different formats while maintaining consistent messaging.

Digital Storytelling: Creating Structured Narrative Experiences

Capstone Project | Interactive Narrative | Spring 2025

My capstone project explores how traditional storytelling methods can be adapted for interactive digital environments. I created an original interactive narrative that demonstrates how structured content can provide engaging user experiences while maintaining storytelling coherence.

The project required me to plan a complex content structure that allows for different user pathways while ensuring that all possible experiences maintain narrative quality. I developed a planning process that included concept mapping, user pathway diagrams, and content organization systems to keep the project organized during development.

This work directly relates to content strategy by demonstrating my ability to organize and structure content for different user needs. The planning documentation shows how I approach complex content challenges and develop systems to manage related content elements - skills that transfer directly to professional content planning and organization.
